Overview of Colonial Tasmanian Telegraphic Stationery.

The following list indicates, with hyperlinks, the broad range of telegraph forms used in Tasmania during the Colonial period.

Colonial envelopes	delivery envelopes for telegrams: Ordinary rate within the Colonial period but also used in the Interim period; Urgent rate used in the Interim period. envelopes for administrative purposes - Telegraph Department. envelopes for administrative purposes - Post and Telegraph Department.

Ordinary rate transmission forms.

TC-TO-1. vertical form with little writing. printed in red on blue paper.
TC-TO-2. horizontal form; 30 boxes on the front and much more detail.
TC-TO-3. horizontal form; printed in black writing on either white or blue paper; has ADDRESS under TRANSMISSION; has lines for the message not boxes.
TC-TO-4. vertical form; printed in black on cream paper; has POST AND TELEGRAPH in large sans-serif capitals; has seven boxes under the heading for stamps and for a date stamp (last box).
TC-TO-special (75). Memorandum used as a transmission form.

Urgent rate transmission forms.

TC-TU-1.

The form begins Telegram for transmission to ...

Has orange URGENT in vertical text in the middle of the form.

Delivery forms - ordinary rate.

TC-DO-1. No postal authority (TASMANIA) shown of the form. Crest is above the ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH heading. Form is portrait format. Front is either plain or boxed.
TC-DO-2. TASMANIA is above the crest which is between ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. Form starts with "TELEGRAM received for";
TC-DO-3. Heading is the same format as for DO-2. Form starts with "Words ..." above the "Received ..".
TC-DO-4. Heading is the same format as for DO-2. Form starts with "Words ..." above the "Received ..". Has "No." in at least one corner. Printed on white paper.
TC-DO-5. TASMANIA is above the crest which is between POST AND TELEGRAPH. Printed on white paper.

Delivery forms - urgent rate.

TC-DU-1 .

Has same format as TC-DO-4A (shown above).

Has URGENT printed vertically down the center of the form in orange.

Only known example.

Special form - Telephone Exchange.

Delivery envelopes - ordinary rate.

TC-EO-1. Has TELEGRAM ONLY in red on left side. ON PUBLIC SERVICE ONLY as hading at the top. Has a deeply embossed red seal on flap on the reverse side.
TC-EO-2. Has Telegram heading printed in gothic font. Has English Crest below. Address area has FOR. Has box for instructions for improper use. Printed on fawn paper.
TC-EO-3. Has Telegram heading printed in gothic font. Has English Crest below. Address area has FOR. Printed on fawn paper. Used also during the Interim period.
TC-EO-4. Has Telegraphic Message heading printed in gothic font. Has English Crest below. Address area has FOR. Printed on fawn paper. Used also during the Interim period.
