In situations where a telegram had to be sent immediately, one of several annotations were used in the Colonies. Sometimes these annotations were made up in a local Telegraph Office.
In Victoria, the annorations included:

RUSH

This annotation appears to have been used in only a fewOffices. One such was on a delivery form (VC-DO-6) for a message sent from Melbourne to Richmond on 4 March 1873.
